Hi, I’m Tommy!
Before joining Greek Housing Management/Sigma Alpha Epsilon, I spent four years working in the automotive industry in Central Illinois. One weekend, I reconnected with some of my fraternity brothers at a football game, and they suggested I look into a position at the national headquarters. By the end of that week, I had moved to Chicago and started my new job, and I’ve been here ever since.
In my current role, I analyze revenue streams for three SAE entities and work with chapter leadership on developing standard operating procedures and strategies for budgeting and collections at both the local and national levels. I also collaborate closely with our staff accountant on data entry, reconciliation schedules, and ensuring that all fund and GAAP accounting standards are met.
What I enjoy most about my work is walking into the Temple each day. The building holds so much history and character, and it serves as a daily reminder of the importance of what we do.
I would say my strengths are communication, strategy, and organization. I enjoy finding creative ways to meet goals, manage deadlines, and balance expectations. One piece of professional advice that has always stayed with me is to never be afraid to reach out to old friends. We all have networks built from different parts of our lives, and sometimes a simple call or text can open doors you never expected.
Outside of work, I’m a diehard Chicago Bears and Cubs fan, even if it means dealing with some sports heartbreak along the way. I also spend as much time as I can with my nephews, who are three and one years old.
I was a member of the Illinois Delta-Lambda Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon at Eastern Illinois University. The brotherhood was incredible, and the friendships I built through the fraternity will last a lifetime. Being part of SAE also taught me how to run a small business, which gave me practical skills that I still rely on today.
