Hi, I’m Jess!
My career in housing and facilities management began when I was an undergraduate at UCLA, working as a student dispatcher supervisor. That experience introduced me to the housing world and gave me an early appreciation for managing people and operations. After graduation, I followed the guidance of mentors and began working in residence hall management. Along the way, I also managed access control and emergency response for UCLA housing, oversaw compliance for charter school food service programs in California and Colorado, and eventually was recruited into greek housing management to support sorority chapter houses.
In my current role, no two days are the same! My mornings often start with phone calls, texts, and emails, followed by managing maintenance requests and approving bills. More than half of my day is spent in meetings, from one-on-ones with employees to calls with house corporations or chapter officers. A big part of my work is connecting with people while prioritizing and solving issues.
What I enjoy most is being part of a formative time in young adults’ lives. I know firsthand how important the mentors I met were during that time, and I take pride in helping these young leaders navigate the world and grow into True Gentlemen. My strengths lie in community building and cultivating both a sense of space and place. Chapter houses serve as “second homes” for our members, and I take pride in shaping that story for future generations.
One piece of professional guidance that has stayed with me is, “Fate favors the fearless.” It reminds me to take action rather than letting fear or indecision hold me back, whether it’s leading change or standing up for what is right.
Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors with my son, Emmett. We enjoy hiking and canoeing in the Rockies, and we share our home with two dogs and a pet parrot. Though I am not Greek myself, I was recruited by Gamma Phi Beta to manage FMC operations and have been serving members of Sigma Alpha Epsilon since November 2025. Being part of these communities allows me to bring together my passions for housing, security, and food service, and seven years later, it remains the most rewarding work I’ve ever done.
